Observatory of the National Policy on Tobacco Control
The Observatory of the National Policy on Tobacco Control aims to gather, organize and make available updated information and knowledge on the implementation of the Framework Convention of the World Health Organization for Tobacco Control in Brazil.
The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control is the first international public health treaty in history and aims to contain the worldwide tobacco epidemic. When Brazil ratified the treaty in 2005, its national implementation gained the status of State Policy and compliance with its measures and guidelines became a legal obligation of the Government of Brazil.
